My Background as a University of Illinois Didactic caused me to pick up this gem of a book.
This book is a little hard to digest....It present food for thought that is often times hard to swallow due to life-long prejudices.
I am a Vegan since college & now suffer from debilitating Gastrointestinal distress requiring repeated sometimes bouts of 2 hour regiments of high-colonic's to the splenic-flexure area along with LINZESS just to get cleaned out so my gut is not cranky.
I've already had a 1.5' Ft. Lower anterior resection of a redundant looping sigmoid (2008) with the thinking that the distress was causing the back-up to my splenic flexure. It helped a little bit.
I've had subsequent Thrombos-ectomy's (2), Radial hemorrhoidectomy, and still suffer from hemorrhoids notwithstanding my vegan high fiber diet.
I'm now slated for another anterior resection of my entire left sigmoid colon just over from the transverse with an end to end anastomosis of essentially my remaining transverse colon to rectum.
There may well be some underlying essentials proposed in this book, though I'm speaking from anecdotal evidence.
